The sources are still uncertain and there are different opinions, but if this date (which is still cited more than once) does not represent the final output of Chrome OS, is certainly the "code freeze", or the end of the coding source. The development seems to have reached the Release Candidate version number 0.9.78.1 . Very little is missing then the release of Chrome OS 1.0!
